This is info about the Boosters

With the support of the Booster Club, the band program participates at a national level and offers far more to the students than a basic music education. The band participates in several band-on-band competitions in Oklahoma and Missouri. These competitions expose students to the stresses and rewards of competition and allows them to see how other high school bands perform in a competitive environment. This year, we are participating in the Greater St. Louis Marching Band Festival in at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis on October 24th, in addition to the Owasso, Oklahoma and Ozarko-Springfield, Missouri competitions.

Based on the overall quality of the band program, FHS Band is frequently invited to perform at nationally televised events, such as the Rose Bowl Parade and Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade (FHS is the only band from Arkansas invited to participate TWICE!). These trips offer many band members once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to “see the big city” and travel far away from home. There is nothing that can replace the experience of visiting New York City, attending Broadway theater, riding the NYC subway and standing at the foot of the Statue of Liberty.

The Booster Club is the primary source of funding for all those extra needs to allow the FHS band program to be far more than just music education. Through our efforts along with participation of the band members, the Booster Club is truly the “wind beneath the wings” of a top tier high school band program.
